Appeals

Our firm handles appeals of all types of cases to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. An appeal may be necessary in any type of legal case. Someone may choose to appeal an order or decision made by a Magistrate, Judge, or Justice in the District Court, Superior Court, Probate Court, or Unified Criminal Court. This means that the Maine Supreme Judicial Court-the highest-level court in the State of Maine-may review the court order or decision to give the matter another look. A person may also find themselves pleased with a court order or decision, but find that the opposing party has appealed the decision and defending against the appeal is necessary.
